PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's tennis team battled in an 8-1 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) loss to three-time defending conference champion SUNY New Paltz in its home finale on Sunday afternoon at the Memorial Tennis Courts.
 
Senior 
Bri Miller (East Greenbush, N.Y./Columbia) posted a win for the Cardinals at No. 6 singles, topping her counterpart from New Paltz, 6-1, 6-2. Senior 
Sarah Hoeffner (Montgomery, N.Y./Valley Central) took a pair of games in both sets at No. 3 singles, falling, 6-2, 6-2, while sophomore 
Samantha Svantner (West Nyack, N.Y./Clarkstown South) won two games in the second set in a 6-1, 6-2 setback at No. 4 singles.
 
In doubles action,

Nicole Svantner (West Nyack, N.Y./Clarkstown South) took three games in an 8-3 loss at the No. 3 spot in the lineup, while junior 
Cydney Bond (Peru, N.Y./Peru) and Hoeffner fell, 8-2, at No. 1 and junior 
Alyana Leandry (Latham, N.Y./Shaker) and sophomore 
Jacqueline Svantner (West Nyack, N.Y./Clarkstown South) dropped an 8-2 decision at No. 2.
 
Plattsburgh State wraps up the regular season at the Binghamton Tennis Center from Thursday-Saturday, April 14-16, beginning with a 9 a.m. match against SUNY Brockport on Thursday.
