ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's tennis team dropped a 7-2 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) decision to SUNY Oneonta on Saturday afternoon at the Dr. Heissan '63 Tennis Courts.
 
Sophomore 
Nicole Svantner (West Nyack, N.Y./Clarkstown South) and first-year student 
Sophia Gottschall (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Plattsburgh) won, 8-2, at No. 3 doubles, giving the Cardinals a doubles point heading into singles play. Senior 
Bri Miller (East Greenbush, N.Y./Columbia) won the Cardinals' lone singles match, prevailing, 7-5, 6-3, at the No. 5 position in the lineup.
 
Plattsburgh State slips to 1-4 overall (1-2 SUNYAC) with the loss and next hosts Farmingdale State College tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. in its Senior Day match. Oneonta rises to 5-0 overall (1-0 SUNYAC) with the win and hosts Utica College next on Friday, Sept. 24, at 4 p.m.
