PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – UFirst Federal Credit Union resumes its partnership with Plattsburgh State as the official game day sponsor for Cardinal women's ice hockey in 2021-22, as announced Thursday by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation.
Thanks to UFirst Federal Credit Union, admission to all Plattsburgh State women's ice hockey games will be free for the entirety of the 2021-22 season.
"On behalf of Cardinal Athletics, I want to extend our continued gratitude to UFirst for their ongoing support of Cardinal Hockey," Plattsburgh State Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation
Mike Howard said. "Their commitment to support free admission to all home games for our women's team, combined with our team's championship tradition, has enabled us to continue leading the nation in attendance. This year's enhanced sponsorship also provided the necessary funding to purchase a new Zamboni, which will provide a tremendous boost to both our men's and women's programs as well as many other groups throughout Cardinal Country."
Plattsburgh State, the reigning NCAA Division III champion, plays at the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena for the first time in 2021-22 on Saturday, Oct. 23, at 3 p.m. in an exhibition game against Saint Michael's College, and the Cardinals open up their regular-season schedule at home on Saturday, Nov. 6, at 3 p.m. against SUNY Cortland.
