SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Freshman forward Ivy Boric (Newport Beach, Calif./Anaheim Lady Ducks) and freshman defenseman Kendall Wasik (Novi, Mich./HoneyBaked) of No. 1 Plattsburgh State women's ice hockey have been named to the 2020 Northeast Women's Hockey League (NEWHL) All-Rookie Team, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.
Boric, a four-time NEWHL Rookie of the Week honoree, has tallied 10 goals and 23 assists for 33 points in 26 games played this season. She leads all NEWHL skaters in assists, while leading NEWHL rookies in both points and plus-minus (+25). Nationally, Boric ranks first among freshmen in NCAA Division III women's hockey in assists, while ranking third in points. She has tallied at least one point in 20 games, including 10 multi-point games.
Wasik, who was named NEWHL Rookie of the Week one time this season, has tallied five assists for five points and a +20 rating in 26 games played. Wasik, who is tied for ninth in the NEWHL in plus-minus, has also tallied 21 blocked shots. In addition, she recorded her first collegiate multi-point game with two assists in a 5-1 win over SUNY Canton on Nov. 16.
No. 1 seed Plattsburgh State (25-1-0, 18-0-0 NEWHL) next takes the ice in the NEWHL Tournament championship game against No. 2 seed Oswego State at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, at the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena.
