PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Plattsburgh State women's soccer suffered a 2-0 setback to Skidmore College in a non-conference match on Saturday, Sept. 14 at the Field House Complex.

Plattsburgh State (3-2-0) outshot Skidmore (4-0-1) 9-5, but was unable to score in the first 45:00 of play. The Cardinals fell behind 1-0 in the 17th minute when Yasmine Boukari scored her third goal of the season for Skidmore. Carly Craft played the ball from just outside the top-right corner of the 18-yard box across to Boukari, who beat the Plattsburgh State defenders to the ball. Boukari dribbled past the defense and scored with a right-footed strike from close range.

One of the Cardinals' best scoring chances of the first half came in the 34th minute. Senior midfielder Rachael Moran (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./Arlington) took a shot from outside the top of the 18-yard box that hit the crossbar. In the 42nd minute, sophomore forward Kirsten Villemaire (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Beekmantown) ran into the top of the 18-yard box and fired a low shot that narrowly missed wide right, and the Cardinals entered halftime trailing 1-0.

In the second half, freshman goalkeeper Julia Ennis (Carmel, N.Y./Kennedy Catholic) (3-2-0) made multiple key saves, including stops in one-on-one situations at 52:00 and at 60:30. However, Skidmore's Emily Vinick scored her third goal of the season in the 74th minute to make the score 2-0.
