ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State baseball team finished their series against conference foe Oneonta with a 4-3 loss on Sunday at Damaschke Field.
Plattsburgh State moves to 5-15 overall and 3-9 in the SUNYAC while Oneonta is 12-13 overall and 4-8 in the conference.
The Cardinals recorded six hits while Oneonta had eight.
Oneonta scored two runs in the bottom of the first off a single and a ground out.
Plattsburgh State tied the game 2-2 in the top of the fourth.
Sophomore
Erik Matz (Medford, N.Y./Patchogue-Medford) scored off a ground out and junior
Keller Kowalowski (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Beekmantown) scored off a single from senior
Rocco Cipriano (Dobbs Ferry, N.Y./Dobbs Ferry).
Oneonta scored in the bottom of the fourth off a wild pitch and recorded another run in the bottom of the eighth off a double for a 4-2 advantage.
Junior
Kentaro Mori (Tokyo, Japan/Joto) hit a single to left field to plate sophomore
Simon Alvarez (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Arlington) to make it 4-3.
Senior
Ryan Whalen (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Plattsburgh) pitched 1.0 innings and gave up four hits, two runs and walked one.
Sophomore
Matthew Triola (Saratoga Springs, N.Y./Saratoga Springs) pitched 6.0 innings and allowed three hits, two runs walked one and struck out three.
Freshmen
Joe Mazzariello (Bronx, N.Y./Westlake) pitched 0.2 innings.
Senior
Frank Finkbeiner (Stone Ridge, N.Y./Rondout Valley) pitched 0.1 innings and allowed one hit.
