OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's basketball team (7-8, 4-4 SUNYAC) earned their fourth straight win after downing Oswego State (2-13, 1-7 SUNYAC) 59-48 Friday night inside Max Ziel Gymnasium.
Sophomore guard
Theresa Quinn(Cromwell, Conn. / Cromwell) recorded a career high of 16 points.
Senior guard/forward
Bella DePasquale (Ardsley, N.Y./Ardsley) led the team with 17 points and added seven rebounds and four assists while freshmen forward
Ly'rell Walker (Yonkers, N.Y. / Roosevelt) had seven points, ten rebounds and five assists.
Junior forward
Taylor Clare (Peekskill, N.Y./Peekskill) picked up a team high of 12 rebounds.
Plattsburgh State out-shot Oswego 15-11 in the first quarter and held the Lakers to just seven points in the second quarter.
Oswego tied the game 18-18 with 5:30 left in the second quarter but the Cardinals went on an 11-point spree to end the quarter and head into halftime up 29-18.
Quinn made a layup, DePasquale had a jumper, sophomore guard/ forward
Lauren Lawliss (Peru, N.Y. / Peru) made two free throws and Quinn drained a three-pointer followed by another layup.
The Cardinals took their largest lead of 17-points with 1:16 left in the third quarter after a three-pointer from DePasquale and a jumper by Quinn.
The Lakers drained their own three-pointer but Lawless put in a jumper to end the quarter to give the Cardinals a 49-33 lead heading into the fourth.
Oswego out-shot Plattsburgh State 15-10 in the fourth quarter but the Cardinals prevailed with the 11-point victory.
Plattsburgh State is back in SUNYAC road action on Saturday as they face off against the Cortland Red Dragons at 1 p.m.
