Knights Second Half Goal Clips Cardinals 1-0

GENESEO, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's soccer team is now 5-3 overall and 0-2 in the conference after a 1-0 loss to Geneseo (5-2-1, 2-0 SUNYAC) on Saturday afternoon at College Stadium.

The first half was even with Plattsburgh State recording six shots compared to Geneseo's seven.

Geneseo came into the second half with more momentum out-shooting Plattsburgh State 17-4 and scoring in the 63rd minute.

The Knights opportunity came with a shot off the crossbar that landed right in front of a Geneseo midfielder who fired a volley over graduate goalkeeper Taylor Adams (Schenectady, N.Y./Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons).

Adams made nine saves in her 90 minutes between the pipes while the Knights goalie recorded four.

Freshman forward Allison Seidman (Commack, N.Y. / Commack) had two shots on goal for the Cardinals while junior midfielder Sarah Bonner (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown) and freshman midfielder  Erin Metzger (New Paltz, N.Y. / New Paltz) each had one.

The Cardinals are home Tuesday, Sept. 25, to host Saint Lawrence at 7 p.m.
