PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Junior guard/forward
Bella DePasquale (Ardsley, N.Y./Ardsley) recorded seven three-pointers to lead the Plattsburgh State women's basketball team to a 56-52 comeback win over Potsdam Friday night inside Memorial Hall.
Plattsburgh State advances to 8-15 overall and 6-10 in the SUNYAC while Potsdam moves to 1-21, 0-16 in the conference.
Potsdam held Plattsburgh State to four points in the first quarter and ten in the second to head into halftime leading 24-14.
The Cardinals improved their three-point percentage from 8.33% in the first half to 46.67% in the second and also improved their field goal percentage from 12% in the first to 41.94 % in the second.
Potsdam took their largest lead of 16 points with 7:26 left to go in the third quarter when the Cardinals went on a 12 point run.
Freshman forward
Mary McKenna (Hauppauge, N.Y. / Hauppauge) made a layup, freshman guard/ forward
Lauren Lawliss (Peru, N.Y. / Peru) made two free throws, sophomore guard/forward
Taylor Durnin (Lyon Mountain, N.Y. / Northern Adirondack) made one free throw, sophomore guard
Christina Testa (Oyster Bay, N.Y./Oyster Bay) made a three-pointer, DePasquale drained a three and sophomore forward
Taylor Clare (Peekskill, N.Y./Peekskill) put in a free throw to come within four points.
DePasquale scored another three-pointer and Clare had two free throws to end the quarter and put Plattsburgh State up by one heading into the final quarter.
The game was tied four times in the fourth quarter. DePasquale tied the game 51-51 with 1:23 to go. Potsdam took a one point advantage with a free throw and McKenna made a layup to give Plattsburgh the lead.

Hanna Whitney (Keene, N.Y. / Keene Central) ended the game with two free throws to help the Cardinals with the four point win.
DePasquale recorded 21 points and picked up six rebounds, Clare scored 10 points and had seven rebounds and McKenna also had ten points and grabbed six rebounds.
Junior guard
Anna Thompson (Poughkeepsie, N.Y. / Spackenkill) recorded six assist to aid the Cardinals win.
Plattsburgh State is back home Friday, Feb. 16, to host SUNY Oneonta at 5:30 p.m.
