PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Sophomore guard/forward
Taylor Durnin (Lyon Mountain, N.Y. / Northern Adirondack) scored a career high 21 points and picked up nine rebounds
and three assists Saturday evening in the Plattsburgh State women's basketball 75-60 loss to Cortland inside Memorial Hall.
Plattsburgh State drops to 7-15 overall and 5-10 in the SUNYAC while Cortland moves to 13-8, 10-4 in the conference.
The Cardinals kept pace in the first quarter only trailing by as much as four points. A three-pointer from junior guard/forward
Bella DePasquale (Ardsley, N.Y./Ardsley) tied the game 12-12 and Durnin gave the Cardinals a three point edge with a layup and free throw.
Cortland tied the game with a three-pointer and Plattsburgh State took a two point advantage with 1:38 left after a layup from freshman forward
Mary McKenna (Hauppauge, N.Y. / Hauppauge). Another three from the Red Dragons ended the quarter and the Cardinals were down by one point heading into the second.

Theresa Quinn (Cromwell, Conn. / Cromwell) tied the game 18-18 to start the second with a free throw.
The Cardinals put up a fight and with 5:03 left in the half they took a one point advantage after a three-pointer from junior guard
Anna Thompson (Poughkeepsie, N.Y. / Spackenkill).
Cortland closed out the half with a two three-pointers to head into halftime up 35-30.
The Red Dragons went on a six point run to start the third quarter and took their largest lead of 15 points with 2:54 remaining.
The Cardinals cut away at lead and a layup by McKenna ended the quarter to put Plattsburgh State within 10 points of Cortland.
Plattsburgh State came within six points of the Red Dragons with 7:09 left in the game. Unfortunately Cortland was able to take back their 15 point advantage by the end of the game and take the 75-60 win.
McKenna came off the bench to record nine points and nine rebounds. Thompson had seven points while DePasquale and sophomore forward
Taylor Clare (Peekskill, N.Y./Peekskill) each grabbed eight rebounds.
Plattsburgh State out-rebounded Cortland 47-43.
The Cardinals are back home Friday, Feb. 9, to host Potsdam at 5:30 p.m.
