PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State men's basketball team recorded their 13th consecutive win Friday night after beating Oswego State 74-60 inside Memorial Hall.

Plattsburgh State improves to 16-4 overall and 13-1 in the SUNYAC while Oswego moves to 9-11 and 6-7 in the conference.

Junior forward Jonathan Patron (Huntington, N.Y. / Harborfields) double-doubled with 27 points and 10 rebounds, senior guard Eric Mack (Roosevelt, N.Y./Baldwin) recorded 12 points, sophomore guard Nick DeAngelis (West Milford, N.J./West Milford) had 10 and junior forward Ian Howard (Queens, N.Y./Springfield Gardens) picked up 10 rebounds and had four blocks. Junior guard Brandon Johnson (Greenburgh, N.Y./Woodlands) and junior guard/forward Chris Middleton (New York, N.Y./Cardinal Hayes) each recorded four assists.

The first half was a back and forth affair with the game being tied four times. The Cardinals had the lead until 9:14 left when Oswego took a one point edge. Plattsburgh State tied the game 27-27 with 8:03 remaining but the Lakers maintained the lead and headed into halftime up 38-35.

The Cardinals came into the second half with second wind out-scoring the Lakers 39-22. Two free throws from DeAngelis and a three-pointer by Patron gave Plattsburgh State back the lead.

Plattsburgh State took their largest lead of 16 points with 4:57 remaining in the game and maintained it until Oswego put in a layup with 56 seconds left to cut the win to 14 points.

The Cardinals out-rebounded the Lakers 45-36 and out-shot them 45.3% to 36.4%.

Plattsburgh State is home Saturday, Feb. 3, to host Cortland with a 3 p.m. tip off.
