DePasquale Breaks Program Three-Point Record In Women’s Basketball 71-55 Loss To Babson

MIAMI, Fla. - Senior guard/forward Bella DePasquale (Ardsley, N.Y./Ardsley) broke the Plattsburgh State women's basketball three-point record on Wednesday in their 71-55 loss to Babson College at the Exclusive Invitational in Miami, Fla.

DePasquale tied the record of 184 with 1:30 left in the first quarter and broke it with her second three-pointer of the game at the 5:20 mark in the third. She recorded one more with 2:01 left in the third for a new record of 186.

Freshmen forward Ly'rell Walker (Yonkers, N.Y. / Roosevelt) recorded a career high of 19 points and picked up five rebounds.

Freshmen forward Kayla Doody (Troy, N.Y. / Tamarac) scored 12 points and had seven rebounds.

Plattsburgh State falls to 3-7 overall while Babson moves to 7-2.

The Cardinals out-shot the Beavers 38.5% to 37.3% in field goals and 33.3% to 23.5% from behind the arc.

Babson was 63.0% in free throws while Plattsburgh State was 40.9%.

Freshman forward Kelly Degnan (Irvington, N.Y. / Irvington) put in the first basket of the game and Babson went on an eight-point run. They went on a ten-point run after Walker had a a layup for an 18-4 edge with 2:12 left in the quarter.

Back-to-back three-pointers from DePasquale and Hanna Whitney (Keene, N.Y. / Keene Central) cut the Beavers lead to eight.

Babson ended the quarter with three free throws for a 21-10 cushion.

The Beavers out-scored the Cardinals 12-9 in the second quarter to head into halftime up 33-19.

Babson took their largest lead of 22 points with 30 second left in the third quarter and headed into the final quarter up 57-37 after Walker had a good jumper.

Plattsburgh State had their best quarter in the fourth out-scoring Babson 18-14 and cutting the lead to 14 with 48 seconds left in the game.

The Beavers ended the game with two free throws for the 16-point win.

The Cardinals will play Wesleyan University at 11 a.m. on Thursday in their final game of the Exclusive Invitational.
