PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Fredonia's sophomore forward Victor Tracy scored with 38.5 seconds left in regulation to stun the Plattsburgh State men's ice hockey team, as the Cardinals fell, 3-2, to the Blue Devils in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action Saturday evening at the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena.
In what was a thrilling game from wire-to-wire, both teams put 34 shots on goal. The Cardinals went 1-for-2 on the power play, while the Blue Devils were 1-for-3.
Plattsburgh State falls to 4-4-1 overall (4-2-1 SUNYAC) with the loss and next visits SUNY Cortland on Friday, Dec. 7, for a 7 p.m. contest. Fredonia rises to 8-1-1 overall (5-1-0 SUNYAC) with the win and next visits SUNY Canton on Friday, Dec. 7, for a 7 p.m. game.
After a scoreless first period, senior forward Jimmy Morgan put Fredonia on the board with 7:13 gone in the second. Junior forward Jacob Haynes sprung Morgan and junior forward Tyler Riter onto an odd-man rush, and Morgan passed to Riter before Riter dropped the puck right back to Morgan in the slot. Morgan then found the back of the net to hand the Blue Devils a 1-0 advantage.
Fredonia's sophomore forward Ryan Dunner scored on the power play with 14:41 elapsed in the second. Tracy fed senior forward Todd Schauss along the right boards in the offensive zone, and Schauss passed up to Dunner on the left point. Dunner wristed a shot through the five-hole to hand the Blue Devils a 2-0 lead.

Jakob Engvall (Jönköping, Sweden/Ogden Mustangs) on the left point from the left corner, and Engvall ripped a shot that was deflected in by Lawson.

Andrew Pizzo (Thorold, Ontario/Niagara University) on the right point, and Pizzo unleashed a slap shot that Egan redirected past the Blue Devil goalie top shelf blocker side.
Tracy scored the game-winner on a pass that came from sophomore forward Jasper Korican-Barlay from behind the goal line, as Tracy fired a shot that hit the inside of the right post and went into the back of the net. Sophomore forward Colin Valentine also earned an assist on the goal.

Jimmy Poreda (Tonawanda, N.Y./Connecticut Jr. Rangers) made 31 saves in the loss for the Cardinals, while senior goaltender Eric Bogart turned aside 32 shots in the win for the Blue Devils.
