DePasquale Drains Seven Three-Pointers In 77-59 Win Over St. Lawrence

CANTON, N.Y. - Senior guard/forward Bella DePasquale (Ardsley, N.Y./Ardsley) drained seven three-pointers in the Plattsburgh State women's basketball 77-59 win over St. Lawrence Tuesday night inside the Ronald T. Burkman Gymnasium.

The Cardinals are now 3-1 while the Saints fall to 2-2.

DePasquale scored 22 points and picked up six rebounds.

Sophomore guard Theresa Quinn (Cromwell, Conn. / Cromwell) recorded a career high 14 points.

Junior guard/forward Taylor Durnin (Lyon Mountain, N.Y. / Northern Adirondack) had 10 points and six assists.

Freshmen forwards Kelly Degnan (Irvington, N.Y. / Irvington) and Ly'rell Walker (Yonkers, N.Y. / Roosevelt) scored eight points each. Walker picked up five rebounds and recorded four blocks as well.

Plattsburgh State out-paced the Saints 35-15 in the first quarter including a seven-point run to start the game.

Junior forward Taylor Clare (Peekskill, N.Y./Peekskill) put in a layup followed by a three-pointer from junior guard Christina Testa (Oyster Bay, N.Y. / Oyster Bay) and a layup from Quinn.

Halfway through the first quarter DePasquale and Walker drained back-to-back three-pointers for a 19-5 lead.

Another three-pointer from DePasquale with 1:40 remaining gave the Cardinals a 17-point advantage.

St. Lawrence put in two free throws but Plattsburgh State ended the quarter with a three-pointer from freshmen forward Kayla Doody (Troy, N.Y. / Tamarac) and a layup from Quinn for a 20-point edge.

The second quarter was even with each team scoring 20 points and the Cardinals headed into halftime up 55-35.

Plattsburgh State remained in control in the third quarter out-scoring St. Lawrence 12-9.

Despite having their lowest scoring quarter in the fourth with ten points and allowing St. Lawrence to put up 15 points, the Cardinals were able to rejoice and take the 18-point win.

St. Lawrence recorded 24 turnovers, which Plattsburgh State capitalized off of with 26 points.

The Saints out-rebounded the Cardinals 43-33.

Plattsburgh State will start conference play on Friday, Nov. 30, when they host New Paltz at 5:30 p.m.
