Box Score PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's basketball (2-1) team fell to The Sage Colleges (2-0) 78-64 in the Cardinal Classic Championship game on Saturday afternoon inside Memorial Hall.
Junior guard/forward
Taylor Durnin (Lyon Mountain, N.Y. / Northern Adirondack) scored 20 points, picked up four rebounds and had two assists to be named to the All-Tournament team.
Freshman forward
Ly'rell Walker (Yonkers, N.Y. / Roosevelt) was 60% in field goals, recorded 13 points, seven rebounds, had two steals and two assists.
Senior guard/forward
Bella DePasquale (Ardsley, N.Y./Ardsley) scored eight points, picked up six rebounds and had four steals and two blocks.
Sage out-scored the Cardinals 15-8 in the first quarter including going on an eight-point run.
Plattsburgh State almost made a comeback in the second quarter out-scoring the Gators 20-16.
Walker put in a layup followed by Durnin with a three-pointer to cut the lead to three points.
Walker made another layup minutes later to come within one point.
DePasquale drained a three to take the lead 20-18 with 5:28 remaining in the first half.
Sage tied the game and Durnin drained a three for a three point cushion.
The remainder of the quarter was a back and forth affair with the lead changing three more times before Sage took it and headed into halftime up 31-28.
Plattsburgh State out-scored Sage again in the third quarter, this time 19-17.
The Cardinals tied the game 42-42 with 3:49 left in the third quarter after a layup by Durnin and another from freshmen forward

Taylor Clare (Peekskill, N.Y./Peekskill) gave the Cardinals a one point edge with 3:26 left in the third.
The quarter was tied three more times with the lead changing three times before the Gators held a one point advantage heading into the final quarter up 48-47.
Sage prevailed in the fourth quarter out-scoring the Cardinals 30-17 to take the Cardinal Classic team title by 14 points.
Plattsburgh State is away Tuesday, Nov. 27 to play Saint Lawrence at 6 p.m.
