GENESEO, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (25-14, 25-10, 25-17) decision to SUNY Geneseo in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Pool Play action Friday evening at Schrader Gymnasium.
Geneseo hit .303 for the match and held the upper hand in service aces (10-2), blocks (7-1) and digs (39-35).
Plattsburgh State drops to 6-19 overall (1-6 SUNYAC) with the loss and closes out its SUNYAC schedule tomorrow with matches against Fredonia (12 p.m.) and SUNY New Paltz (2:30 p.m.). Geneseo rises to 18-7 overall (7-0 SUNYAC) with the win and will host New Paltz (12 p.m.) and Fredonia (2:30 p.m.) tomorrow.

Megan Hyde (Schenectady, N.Y./Schalmont) led the Cardinals with eight kills, while freshman setter/opposite
Lauren DeVoe (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) paced the offense to the tune of 17 assists. Defensively, sophomore defensive specialist
Maddy Zophy (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) and Hyde tallied 12 and 10 digs, respectively, with Zophy's total serving as the match-high.
For Geneseo, freshman outside hitter Maddie McLaughlin floored 11 kills, while senior setter Emily Ast handed out 29 assists. Freshman setter Morgan Michalski reinforced the back row defensively with eight digs, while sophomore middle blocker Bridget Lougen finished with four total blocks (one solo, three assist).
