AUBURNDALE, Fla. — The Plattsburgh State baseball team fell to Greenville College, 11-5, during the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational on Tuesday. The Cardinals slide to 2-3 on the season, while Greenville, a finalist in last year's St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC), goes to 6-5. The game was nine innings.

Alec Fauvell (Smithtown, N.Y./Smithtown West) threw two scoreless frames and junior
Jacob Stein (Bay Shore, N.Y./Bay Shore/Suffolk County CC) surrendered just one earned run in six relief innings.
Greenville sophomore Danny Strohm went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and two stolen bases, while junior Travis Ralls had a double, two runs scored, two walks and two stolen bases. Junior Austin Marsh and freshman Andrew Torbeck both had two RBIs. Sophomore Adam Lamb allowed three runs – one earned – on seven hits with two strikeouts in eight innings for the win.
The Cardinals plated three first-inning runs. Bryant singled home Deland and Adams drove in a pair of runs to cap the opening frame scoring. Greenville countered with five runs on four hits the next half inning to take a 5-3 lead. Marsh and sophomore Bryce Pearce had back-to-back RBI singles and Marsh came around to score later on a throwing error. Torbeck laced a two-run single for the Panther's fifth run.
Greenville added four runs in the fifth inning and two runs in the eighth to take an 11-3 lead. Plattsburgh State scored twice in the bottom of the ninth on Godfrey's bases loaded walk and senior
Adam Calabro touched home on a throwing error.
Plattsburgh State played Keene State College later on Tuesday.
