PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The No. 8/12 Plattsburgh State men's ice hockey team's offense clicked on all cylinders in a 9-2 victory over Cégep André-Laurendeau in its final exhibition game of the season on Friday night at the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena.

The Cardinals had three student-athletes finish with three points: freshman forward
Mike Falanga (East Haven, Conn./Islanders Hockey Club) with two goals and one assist, junior forward
Ross Sloan (Oakville, Ontario/Oakville Blades) with one goal and two assists and freshman forward
Connor Logan (Victoria, British Columbia/North Battleford North Stars) with one goal and two assists.
Plattsburgh State outshot André-Laurendeau, 42-17, and the Cardinals went 1-for-3 on the power play.
The Cardinals begin their regular season tomorrow when they host SUNY Canton at 7 p.m. at the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena.
Junior forward
Jesse Neher (Calgary, Alberta/Cowichen Valley Capitals) scored unassisted 7:01 into the game to open scoring, while freshman forward
Rich McCartney (Hershey, Pa./Philadelphia Revolution) made it a 2-0 game midway through the first period. Sloan and Logan earned assists on McCartney's goal. Logan cashed in on a Sloan pass with 14:56 elapsed in the first period to give Plattsburgh State a 3-0 advantage heading into the first intermission.
Sophomore defenseman
Antoine Fournier-Gosselin (Saint-Lazare, Quebec/Cégep de Saint-Laurent) buried a pass from sophomore defenseman
Philip Middleton (Vail, Colo./Salmon Arm Silverbacks) at 6:34 of the second period, while Falanga added a tally just 16 seconds later. Freshman forwards
Liam Lawson (Vancouver, British Columbia/Powell River Paper Kings) and
Keaton Leininger (Bismarck, N.D./Dauphin Kings) each were credited with assists on Falanga's marker. Junior forward
Cole Stallard (Atlanta, Ga./New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs) scored on a Falanga feed midway through the second, while freshman defenseman
Sam Schultz (Hartland, Wis./Virden Oil Capitals) handed Plattsburgh State a 7-0 edge at 16:10 of the second period. Senior defenseman
Ayrton Valente (Woodbridge, Ontario/Mississauga Chargers) and Logan picked up assists on Schultz's goal.
Falanga scored for the second time in the game just 38 seconds into the third period, once again relying on the Leininger-to-Lawson connection. Sloan buried an unassisted goal with 3:55 gone in the third to round out the Cardinals' scoring.
The Boomerang netted two late goals, with Jakon Breault lighting the lamp thanks to passes from Michael Green and Nicolas Landry at 15:57 of the third period on the power play and Landry tipping in a feed from Francis Cotton just 1:05 later.
Freshman goaltender
Jimmy Poreda (Tonawanda, N.Y./Connecticut Jr. Rangers) earned the win in net for the Cardinals, making eight saves in 30:27 of work, while freshman goaltender
Lawson Fenton (Medina, N.Y./Coquitlam Express) made seven stops in 29:29 of duty. André-Laurendeau used three goalies in the loss, with the netminders combining for 33 saves.
