PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's soccer team opened the season in high fashion on Friday night, defeating the Medaille College Mavericks 10-0 at the Field House Soccer Complex.
Out of the ten goals scored, the Cardinals saw nine different athletes tally a goal against the Mavericks.
Leading the way for Plattsburgh State was
Cammey Keyser (Keeseville, N.Y./AuSable Valley) who tallied two goals on the night and added one assist.
Among those to score a goal and register an assist,
Madeline Saccocio (Schenectady, N.Y./Schalmont), Anissa Hartman (Fairfax, Vt./BFA Fairfax),
Ashlie Guinness (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) and
Sarah Haight (East Meredith, N.Y./Charlotte Valley) all picked up three points on Friday.
Rounding out the scoring for Plattsburgh,
Cait Gagen (East Syracuse, N.Y./East Syracuse Minoa),
Jessica Reid (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax),
Katie Matott (Rouses Point, N.Y./Northeasten Clinton) and
Lucy Wedge (Valhalla, N.Y./Valhalla) scored their first goals of the season.
The Cardinals outshot the Mavericks 30-0 for the contest.

Nichole Gibson and
Taylor Adams combined for the shutout, with Gibson officially getting the win between the pipes.
Plattsburgh State is now 1-0 to start the year and will have the rest of the weekend to rest before its next game on Tuesday night against Union College at the Field House Soccer Complex. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
