Cardinals Fall to Purple Knights in Straight Sets

COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Plattsburgh State women's volleyball team did all they could to contain the St. Michael's College Purple Knights in a 3-0 (25-12, 25-21, 25-15) loss on Wednesday night.

The Cardinals combined for just a .022 hit percentage, compared the Knights hit percentage of .267.

Sam Colombo tallied four kills for the Cardinals to go along with six digs and one block assist.

Plattsburgh played tough in the second set, setting the tone and maintaining a decent lead before the Knights found a groove, and scored five straight points to get the crucial come from behind win.

Kelsey Flaherty lead the Knights with five kills, three digs and a game high four service aces in the win.

This is the Cardinals second straight loss stemming from last weekend's Cardinal Classic final against SUNY Poly.

Plattsburgh will look to get back in the win column when they travel to New Rochelle Saturday to play a double header against the Blue Angels and Elmira College.
