PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – One goal was all it took for the No. 21 ranked Plattsburgh men's soccer team to squeak by the Norwich Cadets in a non-conference match up on Wednesday.
It was a back and forth first half that saw no score, but plenty of opportunity on each end of the field. The Cardinals lead in shots 10-2, while Norwich compiled four corner kicks in back to back fashion, compared to Plattsburgh's two first half chances.
Second half action saw
Ethan Votraw get the Cardinals on the board 57 minutes in when
Nelson Vetter sent a corner kick that Votraw was able to head back across the net and put the shot near post past Cadet keeper Stefan Skoff. This tally is Votraw's third on the season.
Cardinal goalie
Mitchell Jordon only needed to make two saves to clinch the clean sheet and get the win. Plattsburgh out-shot Norwich by a margin of 19-3.
The Cardinals next match up is Saturday when they host Skidmore at the Field House Soccer Complex at 4 p.m.
