HARTFORD, Conn. - The Plattsburgh State men's ice hockey team traveled to Trinity on Saturday night to take on the Bantams in the NCAA Division III Men's Quarterfinal Round, falling 5-1.
Trinity would take a 1-0 lead with just 1:08 remaining capitalizing on a penalty shot opportunity awarded to Jackson Brewer. Brewer went crashing into the net drawing an interference call on Plattsburgh State defenseman
Brandon Beadow.
The score would remain 1-0 going into the third period but the Bantams would score four-straight goals in the final period to cruise away from the Cardinals.
Elie Vered would make it 2-0 2:45 into the third period while Tim Shea would make 3-0 midway through.
Jackson Brewer would strike for his second goal of the game with 7:55 remaining in the game to make it 4-0.
Elie Vered would get his second of the game as well coming in the empty net style.
It was till two seconds left in the game till the Cardinals would finally get on the board as points-leader
Connor Toomey would find the back of the net.

Brady Rouleau made 25 on 29 shots in the losing effort. Trinity goalkeeper Nathaniel Heilbron made 40 saves only allowing one goal all night.
With the loss Plattsburgh State finishes the 2014-15 season at 20-6-2.
It was the first time the Cardinals ever played at Trinity winning the prior three matches all in the Stafford Ice Arena.
