PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. -  The Plattsburgh State women’s basketball team (4-6, 2-4 SUNYAC) dropped a 50-36 decision to State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) rival Oneonta State (7-1, 5-0 SUNYAC) at Memorial Hall Tuesday night.
 
The Red Dragons used a 14-0 run in the first half to enter the break leading by 13 points. The Cardinals never recovered from the half time deficit, shooting 19.2 percent from the field in the second half.   
 
Lindsey Larivee provided a spark off the bench for the Cardinals, scoring a team-high 11 points on 2-for-4 shooting and hitting seven of her eight free throw attempts. Brittany Marshall added seven points of her own, going 3-for-9 from the field and Dana Nucaro snatched a game-high 10 rebounds, six of them coming on the defensive end.
 
Kristin Pappalardo led the Red Dragons, scoring 12 points on 4-for-6 shooting and adding three steals. Samantha Szkotak scored nine points on 4-of-10 shooting as well as grabbing six rebounds and three steals. Madison Slagle had a good defensive outing recording seven defensive rebounds and three blocks.
 
The Cardinals had an off shooting night, hitting one of their 10 three-point attempts and shooting 23.1 percent from the field for the game.
 
The Cardinals return to the court Saturday Jan. 14 at 2 p.m. when they host Potsdam in SUNYAC action.
