PLATTSBURGH, N.Y.
– Vick Schlueter scored two goals and assisted an another, but it wasn’t enough, as Plattsburgh fell to Oswego, 4-3, in front of a sellout crowd of 2,056 at the Stafford Ice Arena.  The Cardinals drop to 13-6-1 overall and 6-6-0 in State University of New York Athletic Conference play.  The Lakers push to 19-2-0 on the year and 12-0-0 against conference opponents.

Plattsburgh’s power-play provided all the offense against the nationally-ranked No. 1 Lakers.  The Cardinals jumped to an early lead on Schlueter first goal of the night at the 3:26 mark of the first period from Ryan Craig and Dylan Clarke.  Schlueter added another one eight minutes later from Mike Grace and Eric Satim.

The Lakers got on the board late in the period with Chris Laganiere’s unassisted goal at 17:35.

Oswego’s Chris Muse tied the game at 2-2 on his fifth of the year from Hank Van Boxmeer and Andrew Mather at 5:58 of the second period.

Plattsburgh grabbed the lead again early in the third period on Ryan Craig’s power-play goal from Schlueter and Grace.

The lead wouldn’t last as Oswego rallied with two unanswered goals to secure the win.  Jon Whitelaw picked up his ninth of the season at 8:22 and Luke Moodie tallied the game-winner at 9:41 from Stephen Mallaro and Justin Fox.

The Cardinals held a large edge in shots, 38-19.  Oswego goaltender Paul Beckwith turned away 35 shots to improve to 15-0-0.  Josh Leis recorded 15 saves for Plattsburgh.

Plattsburgh will look to turn things around this Tuesday at 7 p.m. when Middlebury makes a trip to the Stafford Ice Arena.
