PLATTSBURGH, N.Y.
– Three Cardinals tallied multiple points to lead the Plattsburgh State men’s hockey team to a 5-1 win over nationally-ranked No. 6 Williams in a non-conference game at the Stafford Ice Arena.

With just 19 seconds gone in the game, Ryan Corry gave the Cardinals a 1-0 lead.  Nick Jensen and Ryan Craig picked up the assists.  Two minutes later, Craig was credited with the eventual game-winner when a puck deflected off a Williams player and past Ephs’ goaltender Ryan Purdy.

Williams cut the Plattsburgh lead to 2-1 at the 8:17 mark on a power play goal from Connor Olvany.  Matt Masucci and Ben Contini assisted on Olvany’s eighth of the year.

The rest of the evening was all Plattsburgh, as Dan Sliasis scored his fourth of the season from Dylan Clarke and Kyle Kudroch at 4:36 of the second period.

Clarke added a goal of his own at the 12:44 mark of the third period.  Ryan Farnan closed out the scoring with an empty net goal with just six seconds left on the clock.

Plattsburgh held a 28-25 advantage in shots.  Purdy recorded 23 stops for the Ephs.  Josh Leis made 24 saves for the Cardinals and improves to 10-1-1.

The Cardinals, who improve to 11-4-1 overall, return to conference play this weekend as they host Geneseo and Brockport.
