Plattsburgh gains tie at Elmira

Patrick Jobb Gets Equalizer

ELMIRA, N.Y. - Freshman Patrick Jobb scored a power play goal in the third period as Plattsburgh State salvaged a 1-1 overtime draw at Elmira in non-conference men's hockey play on Saturday. The second-ranked Cardinals move to 9-2-3 while the No. 6 Soaring Eagles are now 10-3-1. BOXSCORE

At the 13:13 mark in the third, Elmira had a sloppy line change and was whitsled for a 2-minute penalty for too many men on the ice. Jobb and the Cardinals capitalized 33 seconds later with his fifth goal of the season on assists by Eric Satim and Chris Wieland.

The game was scoreless until the 9:41 mark of the third stanza when Kevin Willer put Elmira up 1-0. He was assisted by Michael Kirby and Andrew Wilcox.

Plattsburgh had the advantage in the 5-minute overtime session, outshooting the Elmira goal 5-1. The Soaring Eagles were 42-38 in favor of total shots on goal.

Josh Leis made a career-high 41 saves for Plattsburgh while Casey Tuttle countered with 37.
