CORTLAND, N.Y. - Kyle Kudroch had a goal and an assist, and Jared Docking added two assists, to help the Plattsburgh State men's hockey team to a 4-1 victory Friday at Cortland in State University of New York Athletic Conference action, lifting the No. 4 nationally ranked Cardinals' overall record to 13-2-4 and 9-1-1 in the SUNYAC. Kyle VanderMale got the visitors on the board in the first period by scoring a short-handed goal, his third of the season, with just 1 minute and 41 seconds left.
The teams traded goals in the second period as Kudroch scored 6:45 in and Jarrett Gold countered at the 17:53 mark.
But the Cardinals got some insurance in the third period when Dan Sliasis converted a feed from Patrick Jobb midway through and Kyle Taylor added an empty-net goal with just 2 seconds remaining in the game.
Ryan Williams made 18 saves in the Plattsburgh net while Mike Reilly kept the Red Dragons close with 23.
