Cardinals' 19-Game SUNYAC Unbeaten Streak Snapped by Oswego

Plattsburgh Outshoots Lakers 34-14

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. - Eric Selleck scored two goals and had an assist and Jon Whitelaw also scored twice to power No. 8-ranked Oswego to a 5-2 men's hockey victory Saturday over No. 1 Plattsburgh State at the Stafford Ice Arena. The Lakers (5-1 overall) remain perfect in the State University of New York Athletic Conference at 4-0. The Cardinals lose for the first time in four games this season--all in SUNYAC play--and see their 19-game conference unbeaten streak come to an end. BOXSCORE

Chris Laganiere put Oswego up for good at 3-2 with two-tenths of a second remaining in the second period. He roofed his fifth goal of the season from inside the left-circle. He also added two assists.

Trailing 2-0 in the middle stanza, Plattsburgh tied the game on goals by Kyle Kudroch and Vick Schlueter. Phil Farrow and Andrew Willock assisted on Kudroch's second tally.

Kyle Gunn-Taylor made Third Star of the Game honors with 32 saves for the Lakers, who were outshot by 20 for the game. Plattsburgh had an 18-3 margin in the second period.

Oswego went 2-for-6 on the power play while Plattsburgh had a goal on six man-advantages.

Plattsburgh last fell in a SUNYAC game on Feb. 15, 2008, in Potsdam, 4-2.
