Cardinals Crush Blue Devils in Fredonia

Plattsburgh Scores Season-High 10 Goals

FREDONIA, N.Y. - The Plattsburgh State men's hockey team erupted for seven goals over the last periods to turn a one-goal game into a 10-2 rout of host Fredonia in State University of New York Athletic Conference play on Saturday at Steele Hall Ice Arena. The No.3-ranked Cardinals, who are 10-0-1 in their last 11 conference road games, improve to 6-1 both overall and in the SUNYAC. The Blue Devils are now 6-4 and 4-3 after seeing their three-game win streak snapped. BOXSCORE

Eric Satim led the Plattsburgh offense with two goals and two assists, Dylan Clarke had a goal and two assists and Andrew Willock recorded three assists.

Sophomore Peter Kaliscik scored what proved to be the game-winning goal, his first career goal, to cap a wild first period that saw Plattsburgh take a 3-2 lead after 20 minutes. Brett Mueller had given Fredonia a 1-0 advantage just 55 seconds after the opening faceoff.

But in the second period, Plattsburgh began to take control as Dan Sliasis scored the first of his two goals on the night beginning with 3 minutes and 44 seconds gone. The Cardinals led 6-2.

Patrick Jobb, Vick Schlueter (2 goals) and Ian DeLong found the back of the net in the third period to seal the win.

Plattsburgh outshot Fredonia by a 42-29 count. Ryan Williams made a career-high 27 saves to improve to 4-0 for Plattsburgh, and starter Kody Van Rentergem (8 saves) and Pat Street (24) split time in Fredonia's goal.
