Mya Smith was instrumental in helping the Cardinals to a 2-1 opening week of play in women's basketball as the senior guard averaged 11.3 points per game, 4.3 rebounds, four assists, and two steals. In the season opening win, the Wappingers Falls native had 12 points, five rebounds and four assists and also had six assists and four steals in the win over Cobleskill. In the team's first loss against NESCAC's Wesleyan, Smith had a season-high 16 points, shooting 5-11 from the field, knocking down two threes and all four of her free throws.Â
