Stephanie Varin began her fourth year as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Plattsburgh State in the 2025-26 academic year.
Varin comes to Plattsburgh after most recently working as a certified athletic trainer at Federal Staffing Resources in Annapolis, Maryland. There, she worked with the Holistic Health and Fitness team for the battalion and brigade, providing sports medicine services to active-duty service members.
Most recently in athletics, Varin worked as the Head Athletic Trainer at Johnson and Wales University in Charlotte, North Carolina, from July 2017 through May 2019. At Johnson and Wales, she was responsible for day to day duties of the athletic training room at Johnson & Wales University and communicating with coaches and administration regarding scheduling.
Varin is familiar with the Plattsburgh area, as she earned her Associate of Arts degree in physical education from Clinton Community College in 2005 and interned in for the department in her undergrad career as well. From there, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from SUNY Cortland in 2007. She also earned her Master of Science degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion in 2009, finishing her education at California University of Pennsylvania.
