Biography
2013 (Senior): Drew the curtain on her collegiate career by serving as a team captain and earning the distinction of being just one of two players to start all 18 games... just three other Plattsburgh State players racked up more minutes played than her season total of 1,391... showcased her abilities to play up on the front line and netted her first game-winning goal of the season during a 3-0 win at Rivier (8/31)... began her final SUNYAC season by striking for the only score in the Cardinals' 1-0 road win over SUNY Potsdam (9/28)... pumped in her only SUNYAC road score in a 2-1 overtime loss at SUNY Cortland (10/5)... collected an assist in the final game of her career - a 11-0 Plattsburgh State win at Norwich (10/29)... led the Cardinals with two game-winning goals and finished third on the team in both points (seven) and goals (three)... took home CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District III First Team honors... selected to represent the Cardinals on both the SUNYAC All-Academic Team as well as the SUNYAC Commissioner's List.
2012 (Junior): Retained her role as a prominent member of the defensive line for the Cardinals after securing what appeared to be a permanent post there one season ago... spent some 1,233 minutes on the pitch - one of just six Cardinals who were over the 1,000-minute mark... was responsible for two goals and one assist for five points on the season... her only shot against Husson resulted in her first goal of the season in a 4-0 victory for the Cardinals (9/8)... conjured up her second goal in the Cardinals' SUNYAC finale against Brockport (10/20)... was the third member of the team to be named to both the All-Academic team and the Commissioner's List by the league.
2011 (Sophomore): Started every game of the season after moving back to be a defender ... third on the team in total minutes with 1,311 ... scored the game-winning-goal in a 3-2 victory over Castleton State (Sept. 8) ... named to the Commisioner's List and the All-Academic team by the SUNYAC.
2010 (Freshman): Played in 18 games and tallied one goal and two assists for four points … Scored first collegiate goal against Castleton State (Sept. 18) and recorded an assist against Brockport (Sept. 24) and Norwich (Oct. 27) … Received All-SUNYAC Academic honors.
High School: Lettered four times in soccer, five times in track and field and twice in volleyball … Two year team captain for soccer … Soccer team won Section 7 Championship in 2006 …CVAC leading scorer and CVAC all-star in 2009 … Also 2009 Regional Champion in volleyball and 2008 Section 7 Championship in track and field.
Personal: Born Lauren T. Gonyea on July 21, 1992 in Plattsburgh, N.Y. …daughter of Jay and Paula Gonyea … chemistry major.
