Jake Burns begins his first year as an assistant women's lacrosse coach at Plattsburgh State in 2021.
Burns' previous coaching experience includes serving as the head boys' lacrosse coach at Northwood School in 2020 and the assistant men's lacrosse coach at Hartwick College in 1998. In addition, he has served as a head coach and an assistant coach for various youth organizations, including Glens Falls Youth Lacrosse, TriLakes Boys Lacrosse and TriLakes Girls Lacrosse.
As a men's lacrosse student-athlete at Hartwick from 1993-97, Burns was an All-American goalie in addition to being named the Super 6 Conference Goalie of the Year and the North/South Game team captain in 1997. He earned three All-Conference honors during his career and holds single-season and career program records in goals-against average (7.02 in 1997, 8.25 career) and save percentage (.707 in 1997, .664 career).
In addition to coaching, Burns owns Locker Room 5, a sporting goods store in Lake Placid, N.Y.
