Plattsburgh State Athletics

2010-11 (Senior): Played in 24 of team’s 27 games … Tallied seven goals with five assists for 12 points … Scored two goals during a weekend series against Chatham (Nov. 20-21) … Had a three-point weekend against Utica College (Feb. 19-20) with one goal and two assists … Received ECAC West All-Academic honors for the third straight year … Named to the SUNYAC Commissioner’s List.

2009-10 (Junior): Posted a career-high six goals, finishing with eight points in 22 games on the season...six of eight points came in ECAC-West contests...recorded first-career multi-goal game in 9-3 win at Potsdam Nov. 24...Academic All-ECAC-West selection...had six goals and 14 points to lead the Plattsburgh women's soccer team to an 11-5-2 record and an NCAA Tournament appearance.

2008-09 (Sophomore): Recorded an assist in a 4-1 victory versus Chatham (Nov. 16) and 5-0 win against Buffalo State (Feb. 1)...scored lone goal of year in a 10-0 whitewashing of Buffalo State (Jan. 31)...Academic All-ECAC West, -SUNYAC...also named to SUNYAC Commissioner's List...had 14 goals and 34 points as leading scorer for Plattsburgh women's soccer team, receiving All-SUNYAC First Team accolades while helping the Cardinals to a 13-3-3 record and SUNYAC Tournament berth.

2007-08 (Freshman): Scored first collegiate goal against Connecticut College, a 9-0 win, on Dec. 8...also played for Cardinal women’s soccer team...was SUNYAC Rookie of the Year and second-team All-SUNYAC after ranking fourth in the conference in scoring with 42 points on 17 goals and eight assists. 

Before Plattsburgh: Played hockey for the Troy Albany Ice Cats...played three years of boys’ hockey under coach Bill Bechard at Chazy Central Rural School...also earned five letters in soccer and four in softball.

Personal: Born Helen Ruth Giroux on Dec. 23, 1988 in Plattsburgh, N.Y....parents are Craig and Barbara Giroux...international business major with a coaching minor.
