Nicole Goguen is an assistant coach for Plattsburgh State Women's Hockey

Nicole Goguen

Former University of New Hampshire defenseman Nicole Goguen begins her fifth season as the top assistant on the Plattsburgh State women's hockey coaching staff in 2012-13. She has helped the Cardinals to a 85-19-10 overall record, including 62-5-5 in the Eastern College Athletic Conference West Division, three NCAA Division III tournament appearances, including one Frozen Four and coached eight All-Americans.

Goguen helped the Division I UNH Wildcats to a 115-19-13 record for an .826 winning percentage, three NCAA tournament appearances and four consecutive Hockey East championships from 2005-08. She totaled four goals and 21 assists during her 145-game collegiate career, and was selected to the Hockey East All-Academic Team three times.

Goguen's best season came in 2005-06 when she had a goal and eight assists for nine points as a sophomore, helping the 33-3-1 Wildcats to the NCAA Semifinals.

A 2005 member of the Canada U-22 National Team, Goguen is from Truro, Nova Scotia. She majored in kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise science at UNH.

Before attending UNH, Goguen was a 2004 graduate of Cobequid Educational Centre, where she lettered in hockey, soccer, and lacrosse. Her scholastic highlights include the North American Hockey Academy (2004), Lake Placid Tournament (2004), Team Nova Scotia U-18 (2003), New England All-Star (2002) and all-star team appearances for hockey, soccer and lacrosse during the 2002-03 season.
