Biography

2013-14 (Senior): Put the finishing touches on a career that will ultimately go down as one of the best in the history of the program... exits as the program's all-time leader in both scoring (1,722 points) and rebounding (759)... was on the receiving end of Honorable Mention All-American accolades by both the ABCA and D3Hoops.com after putting together one of the finest single season campaigns by any Plattsburgh State basketball player - male or female... led the team, was second in the SUNYAC and 32nd among all NCAA Division III Women's Basketball players with a scoring average of 19.6 points per game... busted her own single-season scoring record by pumping in 569 points while starting all 29 of the Cardinals' bouts... possessed the best rebounding average among the Cardinals and the sixth-best in the SUNYAC (7.7 per game)... was among the top-ten SUNYAC performers in field goal percentage (sixth, 40.0), free throw percentage (ninth, 74.1), three-point field goals per game (seventh, 1.9) and blocked shots per game (seventh, 1.0)... failed to register as least 11 points in just one of the Cardinals' bouts... produced 12 games of 20 or more points... took over the top spot on the all-time Plattsburgh State scoring charts during a 19-point performance during a road victory over Fredonia State (1/25)... put on one of the highest scoring performances in the history of the program by netting a career-high 35 points in a home win over SUNYAC foe Oneonta State (1/31) in which she missed tying the single-game scoring record by one point... snagged 14 rebounds in the Cardinals' regular-season triumph over Buffalo State to supplant Jana Rhude as the program's all-time leading rebounder (2/22)... earned her second-ever spot on the SUNYAC All-Tournament Team after helping lead the Cardinals to their first-ever SUNYAC Tournament title... became the third Plattsburgh State women's basketball player to haul in SUNYAC Player of the Year honors... accumulated two SUNYAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week and two ECAC Division III Upstate Women's Basketball Player of the Week citations throughout the season... accumulated no fewer than seven postseason awards during her final season. 

2012-13 (Junior): Showed no signs of slowing her role as a dominant force in the SUNYAC as well as the region... repeated as an All-SUNYAC First Team selection after leading the Cardinals to their first season with a plus-.500 record in a decade... served as the primary option on the offensive end of the floor, averaging a team-high 15 points - translating to the second-best scoring average in the 10-team SUNYAC... was the fourth most efficient point producer in the SUNYAC, boasting a field goal percentage of .377... scored at least 10 points in 23 of 27 games and surpassed the 20-point barrier on four occasions... hauled down more rebounds (185, 6.9 per game) than any other member of the team... selected as one of the student-athletes who comprised the 2012-13 SUNYAC All-Tournament Team after leading the Cardinals to the SUNYAC Championship Tournament semifinals for just the second time in program history... netted a season-high 26 points on 10-18 (.556) shooting and completed her second double-double in as many games with 10 rebounds at Oneonta State in the SUNYAC Championship quarterfinals (2/19)... carved out a spot for herself on the D3Hoops.com All-East Region First Team as well as the All-Basketball Coaches Association of New York (BCANY) Women's Basketball Team.

2011-12 (Sophomore): Had an outstanding year for the Cardinals as she received First Team All-SUNYAC honors...led the team in almost all offensive categories...led the SUNYAC in points with 476, a new Cardinal program record....and was second in scoring average with 19.8...third in SUNYAC in rebounding with 204 and 8.5 per game...led SUNYAC in defensive rebounds with 6.33 per gamescored a career-high 32 points against St. Lawrence (Nov. 29) and against Middlebury (Jan. 24)...scored 28 points on three seperate occasions...recorded nine double-doubles, including three in a row from Jan. 21 to Jan. 27.

2010-11 (Freshman): Played in all 25 games, starting in two … Named SUNYAC Rookie of the Year … Led team and SUNYAC in freshman scoring with 273 total points … Made collegiate debut against Norwich University and scored seven points (Nov. 15) … Made first career start as a forward and scored 11 points with six rebounds against New Paltz (Dec. 3) … Led team in scoring nine times, including a career-high 21 points against Fredonia (Jan. 21) and at Oneonta (Jan. 28) … Also had a double-double at Buffalo State with 19 points and 11 rebounds (Feb. 18).

High School:  Five-time letterwinner under Coach Gus Lawson at Goshen...scored 1,000 points and had 1,000 rebounds for her career...team captain as a senior...twice led the team in season scoring...holds school's single-game scoring record of 35 points...2008 Times Herald-Record First Team All-Star in softball, earning five letters in that sport...also lettered three times in soccer and once in volleyball...won two divisional titles in soccer...softball program claimed divisional and sectional crowns during sophomore year. 

Personal:  Born Kathleen H. Payne on July 29, 1992...father is Charlie, mother is Helen Donohue-Payne...criminal justice major.
