Biography
2015-16 (senior): Started in all 24 of her appearances for the Cardinals… led the SUNYAC in scoring at 18.7 points per game… averaged 8.6 rebounds per game and 2.1 blocks per game… broke the school record of points scored in a game with 49 against St. Lawrence on 12/1/15… won SUNYAC Player of the Week twice… voted Hero Sports Hero of the Week… awarded ECAC Div. III Upstate Player of the Week… selected to the All-Tournament teams in the Cardinal Classic and the Hampton Inn West Springfield/Naismith Classic… named First Team All-SUNYAC… historic 49 point performance voted as Hero Sports Performance of the Year… scored her 1,000 point against Tufts on 1/2/16… collected D3Hoops.com East Region third Team honor… finished her career fourth all time in points (1,282), first all time in free throws made (399), third all-time in rebounds (692) and second all-time in blocks (204).
2014-15 (Junior): All-SUNYAC Second Team... Developed into a full-fledged SUNYAC star and became one of the primary driving forces behind the Cardinals' on-court successes... was the only member of the team to play and start all 26 games... ranked tops among the Plattsburgh State ranks in scoring (14.3 ppg), rebounding (7.8 per game) and blocked shots (58)... just five other SUNYAC student-athletes owned a better points per game average... finished the season as the seventh-leading rebounder and the second-leading shot blocker (2.2 per game) in the 10-team SUNYAC... no Cardinal regular possessed a better field goal percentage (46.3) or a more accurate touch from the free throw line (78.4 percent) and her numbers in those departments helped her finish second in the SUNYAC in both categories... registered at least 11 points in all but seven of the Cardinals' bouts throughout the season... put up no fewer than six double-doubles during her third season of deployment... amassed four 20+ point performances including a career-best 24 against both Buffalo State (1/30) and The College at Brockport (2/20) - both games of which were Plattsburgh State wins in Memorial Hall... reset her career-high in rebounds by yanking down 17 in a home SUNYAC win over New Paltz (12/5) and matched that mark in a road victory at The College at Brockport (1/24)... splashed her first collegiate three-pointer as part of that home victory over Brockport (2/20).
2013-14 (Sophomore): Built up her collegiate basketball skills by a substantial margin to become a far more fearsome interior force for the Cardinals... received a significant upgrade in playing time, starting 27 games and playing in each of the Cardinals' 29 bouts... improved her already accurate close-range shooting skills and wound up hitting 51.2-percent (110-of-215) of her field goals attempts... few women in the SUNYAC boasted a more accurate eye from the free throw stripe... place third in the conference with a free throw percentage of 83.5... reigned as the Cardinals' premier defensive post player by turning aside 50 shots by the opposition... just two other SUNYAC players registered more blocked shots and a higher blocked shots per game average... more than doubled her scoring average from a season ago, pumping in 11.2 markers per game - the third-highest total on the team... ripped down a career-high 16 rebounds and netted 16 points to lead the Cardinals to their first road SUNYAC win of the season over Oswego State (12/6)... secured the Cardinals' SUNYAC Championship Tournament hosting rights by collecting a career-high 23 points in the Plattsburgh State regular season finale against Buffalo State (2/22).
2012-13 (Freshman): Made the Cardinals' interior defensive woes a thing of the past during her collegiate initiation... forced opponents to think twice before attempting any field goals from in close and blocked a team-high 44 shots... swatted away a career-high eight shots in a neutral site victory over Skidmore (12/30)... received a promition to the starting lineup during the third game of the season, and responded by producing her first career double-double (10 points, 11 rebounds) in a victory over St. Lawrence (11/27)... those 11 rebounds represented a career-high... recorded a team and career-best 16 points in a Plattsburgh State victory over SUNYAC enemy SUNY Potsdam (2/12).
High School: Emerged as a prep star at Tappan Zee HS during her three years of deployment on the varsity squad... captured an honorable mention All-Section nod during her junior (2010-11) campaign followed up with an selection to the full-fledged All-Section squad during her final prep go-round... earned All-League acclaim during her final two high school seasons... led the Dutchmen to the Westchester County Center and the Final 2 for the first time in school history during her pre-collegiate curtain call... appeared on no less than four club teams during her prep days, including the Rockland Royals (2008), Rockland Rockets (2009), New York Fever (2010-11) and the Lady Knicks (2012)... showed off her volleyball skills at Tappan Zee as well, earning a pair of varsity letters as well as a pair of All-League accolades and led her squad to a league championship during her senior year... also participated in track and field for one season, helping her team to a section championship.
Personal: Born Devona Mary Paul on September 6, 1994... daughter of Eric and Mary Paul... brother, Mark, played lacrosse at Sacred Heart University for two seasons... nickname is "D-Bomb"... Communication Disorders and Sciences major.
