Plattsburgh State Athletics

Brad Marshall enters his first season as the Plattsburgh State softball head coach in 2027. Marshall takes over the Cardinals after serving as the team's interim head coach during the summer of 2026 and brings more than a decade of collegiate softball coaching experience to the program.

Marshall has had multiple stints on the Plattsburgh State coaching staff, most recently serving as an assistant coach from 2024-26. He previously worked with the Cardinals from 2015-16 and 2021-22. He also spent nearly three seasons as an assistant coach at SUNY Potsdam from 2018-21.

Throughout his coaching career, Marshall has focused on player development, recruiting, pitching, hitting, baserunning and defensive instruction while also serving as a first- and third-base coach. He also brings extensive youth softball coaching experience, including head coaching positions with Adirondack Diamonds Jr. Olympic Girls Fastpitch Softball at the 16U and 18U levels.

Marshall has more than 20 years of playing experience in semi-professional baseball and men's softball throughout the North Country. He earned multiple NVBL MVP and Golden Glove Awards and was named MVP of the 1996 National ASA Softball Eastern Regional Tournament. In 2025, he was inducted into the National Semi-Pro Baseball Hall of Fame.
