Brandon Donovan, who competed in men's lacrosse at SUNY Potsdam from 2017-20, begins his third season as an assistant men's lacrosse coach at Plattsburgh State in 2025.

In 2024, Donovan's role expanded to working with midfielders as well as faceoff specialists. Farrelly's production remained the same as he increased his faceoff wins by 12 and Jab Duval Lapaix improved his faceoff win percentage to .411 and 58 wins. The midfield group contributed more to the Cardinals offense highlighted by Tim Keenan and Cam Morin who went from five points in 2023 to 27 and 22 points respectively in 2024.Â
Donovan worked with faceoff specialists for Plattsburgh during the 2023 season. In his first year with the team, Jimbo Farrelly saw an increase in faceoff production for the Cardinals under his mentorship as he improved to a .491 faceoff win percentage besting the top mark the previous year of .460.Â

An Erin, N.Y., native, Donovan played in 35 career games as a long-stick midfielder for the Bears, scooping up 62 ground balls and causing 18 turnovers. He also recorded an assist on March 12, 2020, against Marian University.

Donovan earned his Bachelor of Arts in business administration from Potsdam in 2020.
