Plattsburgh State Athletics

2012-13 (Junior): Did not allow a goal in four appearance ... made his second career start in the consolation game of the 2013 PrimeLink Great Northern ShootOut against No. 11 St. Thomas (Nov. 24), stopping all 15 shots he faced to earn his first collegiate win and shutout ... named SUNYAC Goalie of the Week (Nov. 26) ... credited with the win against Williams after the Cardinals rallied to defeat the Ephs, 5-4, in overtime ... finished the season with a 2-0-0 record.

2011-12 (Sophomore): Appeared in two games, Brockport (Nov. 18) and Cortland (Dec. 13) ... made 10 saves without allowing a goal ... co-recipient of the Chester A. Grabowski Award, given annually to the player who most typifies Plattsburgh State Cardinal Hockey, demonstrating supreme sportsmanship, leadership, hard work and dedication.

2010-11 (Freshman): Served as team’s third goaltender and appeared in two games … made collegiate debut in relief at Geneseo and stopped all five shots he faced … took the loss in first career start and allowed six goals on 27 shots against Buffalo State (Nov. 19). 

Before Plattsburgh: Won section championship in first trip to state tournament … played junior hockey for the Blind River Beavers of the NOJHL where he won a Best Goalie award … compiled a .928 save percentage and 1.70 goals-against average in senior year at Woodbury High School … also played football and baseball at Woodbury.

Personal: Born Samuel Howe Foley on May 10, 1989 … son of Bob and Sue Foley …cousin, Jackie Foley, played defense for the University of St. Thomas … enjoys golf and water skiing … early childhood education and special education major.
