Biography
2014-15 (Senior): NABC Honors Court Closed out his college basketball career by helping the Cardinals reach the SUNYAC Tournament Championship bout for the third consecutive season... was one of just two Cardinals to start each and every one of the team's 27 battles... reached the double-digit mark in points on nine occasions... finished the season as the fifth-highest scorer (8.1 points per game) and the second-best long-range threat (38.8-percent) among the Plattsburgh State ranks... began the his final campaign with a bang by pumping in a game and season-best 21 points in a non-conference victory over Elizabethtown (11/15)... turned in a pair of double-double performances - his first such outings as a collegian - on the road at Keene State (10 points, 10 rebounds, 12/31) and at SUNYAC enemy SUNY Geneseo (12 points, 10 rebounds, 1/23).
2013-14 (Junior): Dealt damage to opposing clubs by splitting time almost evenly as a starter and a bench player to ring in his days as an upperclassman... continued to thrive from beyond the arc, hitting at least one three-pointer in all but five of the Cardinals' 30 bouts... was called into action in each of Plattsburgh State's 30 games - an accolade shared by just five players... produced the sixth-best scoring average (8.4) when stacked up against the rest of the Cardinals... started out slow, averaging just 5.8 points per game through the first 17 tilts before ratcheting things up a couple of notches and averaging 11.1 markers through the final 13 games... connected on 40.7-percent of his long-range attempts (46-of-113) which was the third-highest percentage among Cardinal regulars... thrived in the postseason where he received five of his 12 assignments among the starting five... failed to reach the 10-point plateau in just one of the Cardinals' five postseason tussles... averaged 17 points and five rebounds during a two-game stretch in the SUNYAC Championship Tournament to earn a spot on the All-Tournament Team... really gave the Plattsburgh State faithful reason to cheer with a career-high 27 points in the Cardinals' NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament first round home win over MIT (3/7)... drilled a career-best six long balls in that particular battle.
2012-13 (Sophomore): Evaded the sophomore slump by conjuring up one of the most dependable seasons among the Plattsburgh State ranks... played in all but one of the Cardinals' 29 engagements and served as a member of the starting five in 26 of those tilts... stormed out of the gates by amassing a career-high 20 points on 9-of-16 shooting in the season opener against Sage (11/16)... evolved into the most reliable long-range specialist on the squad, hitting 40 of his 93 triples (.430)... drained at least one three-pointer in all but seven games... tied a career high by splashing a quartet of triples in the Cardinals' season finale at eventual national champion Amherst (3/9).
2011-12 (Freshman): Made 25 appearances in his debut season with the Cardinals...led the team in three-point percentage with .382 on 21-55 shooting from outside the arc...made first collegiate start against Middlebury College (Jan. 24)...scored 14 points in his second career start against Oswego (Jan. 27).
High School: Won four varsity letters playing basketball and three varsity letters in track and field … won three N.H. state championships as a freshman, sophomore, and junior … was MVP of his team as a senior … first team all-state … averaged 17 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks per game … member of the N.H. Sportzone Spartans junior and senior year … member of national honor society and was student council treasurer.
Personal: Born Ezra Curtis Hodgson on Oct. 8, 1992 in Lansing, Mich. … son of Greg and Sherreé Hodgson … both his father and mother were basketball players at Messiah College … majoring in public relations at Plattsburgh State … enjoys reading and video games.
