Biography

2013 (Freshman): Patrolled the outfield for 33 of the 36 Plattsburgh State tilts during his inaugural collegiate campaign... knocked in six runs and drew 12 walks - the second-most on the team... succeeded on three of his seven stolen base attempts. 

High School: Spent exactly one-half of his prep career at the varsity level for Bishop Ford High School... patrolled the center field area... earned a City Council Citation Athlete Award... played for the SAYO Grays club team from 2011-12... captured a NABF North Atlantic Regional Championship with the Grays... helped the Grays to a Federation Championship, a Verdero Tournament Championship and a Parade Ground League Championship.

Personal: Born Mathew Chavez on May 14, 1994... son of Kevin and Melissa Chavez... majoring in criminal justice at Plattsburgh State.
