2012 (Junior): Started five times and made nine total appearances for the Cardinals...had a 2-1 record with an ERA of 4.97...pitched 29 innings and recorded one save.
2011 (Sophomore): Appeared in seven games, started in four … Went 1-3 with a 5.66 ERA in 20.2 innings pitched … Started against then top-ranked Heidelberg (March 15), picking up the loss by allowing two earned runs on five hits, two walks and two strikeouts in six innings … Earned the win against Oswego (April 22) by throwing four innings with two earned runs, four hits allowed, two walks and three strikeouts.
2010 (Freshman): Went 4-1 with a 5.20 ERA...four wins led all freshman pitchers...picked up first-career victory in an 11-3 win vs. Lakeland College, allowing eight hits and one run in seven innings in his Cardinal debut.
High School: Four-year letterman in baseball at Salmon River Central located in Fort Covington, N.Y....prep coach was Joe Binien...three-time All-Northern selection, including first team units his last two seasons...all-region as a junior and senior...won Section X East baseball crowns in 2007-08...played four years of hockey under his father, Bill...two-time all-conference, -region pick...helped team to three Section X hockey championships, 2005 regional title and state runner-up that year...received first-team all-state accolades...also lettered twice in soccer and once in football...skated for the Junior Ice Hawks that placed third in a national tournament in 2008...multiple academic all-conference, -state honors.
Personal: Born Marc R. Plante on Dec. 30, 1989 in Saranac Lake, N.Y....parents are Bill and Susan...attended Cortland State for a semester, but didn't play any sports at the SUNY institution...likes playing street hockey, X-box gaming system, fishing and hanging out with friends...undecided on a major course of study.
