BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's basketball team aimed to keep its momentum going with a second consecutive win during game three of a four-game road slate. Already holding the series advantage over the Bengals, the Cardinals secured the season sweep with a 57-42 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) win over Buffalo State on Friday night in Sports Arena. Plattsburgh had three players net double figures in their double-digit win, led by sophomore forward

For the Bengals, Chyann Kelly led her team in points with 11 and had seven rebounds, a block, and a steal. Emily Delisle contributed nine points and two rebounds, and Mya Brown added seven points and seven rebounds.
Plattsburgh shot efficiently, connecting on 40.7% of their attempts and 25.0% from three-point range, while Buffalo State struggled, making just 24.6% overall and 15.4% from long distance. The rebounding battle was tight, with the Cardinals edging the boards 37-34, though the Bengals held a 7-4 advantage in second-chance points. Plattsburgh capitalized more on turnovers, scoring seven points to Buffalo State's four.
The Cardinals opened up a 6-0 lead, courtesy of Walcott, to start the first quarter before the Bengals finally got on the board with a three-pointer and made the score 6-3 with 5:52 remaining. Plattsburgh continued to pour it on with a 7-0 surge sparked by Sculco, building a 13-5 lead and carrying a 14-7 advantage into the second quarter.
The first bucket of the second didn't come until the 7:54 mark, when Morgan knocked down a jumper followed by a layup with 5:12 to go to make the score 18-10. A
Jaden Wilson (Johnstown, N.Y. / Johnstown) triple extended the advantage, and a Dubois layup made it a double-digit game as Plattsburgh took a 27-15 lead into halftime.
Despite being outscored in the quarter, Plattsburgh built its largest lead of the game at the time with a 5-0 burst capped by a Morgan layup that made it 43-28, and later took a 45-34 lead into the fourth.
The fourth quarter saw the Bengals cut the deficit to single digits, but a 10-0 spurt, led by DuBois, quickly restored Plattsburgh's cushion to 55-37, and the Cardinals comfortably closed out a 57-42 victory.
With the win, Plattsburgh State wins its second game in a row and rises to 14-8 (9-6 SUNYAC). The Cardinals will be back in action tomorrow, Feb. 14, when the team travels to Fredonia for a 2 p.m. tip-off.
