Spencer Bellina (Medina, Ohio/Chippewa Steel) scored his first collegiate goal to give Plattsburgh the lead for good, notching his first game-winner as well.
The Plattsburgh men's ice hockey team is currently ranked third in the USCHO.com Division III Top-15 Poll.
Bellina scored with just over 10 minutes left in the third period for a lead the Cards wouldn't relinquish.

Plattsburgh State moves to 5-0 (3-0 SUNAYC) with the win and next plays on Friday, Nov. 17 when they take on Potsdam on Military Appreciation Night at 7 p.m. Brockport falls to 2-3 (1-2 SUNAYC) and hosts No. 7 Oswego State on Friday, Nov. 17 for their next contest.
The Golden Eagles were the first team to find the back of the net on Saturday, as a Scott Ramaekers' shot skimmed the glove of Shiller and found the top shelf for a goal in the first six minutes of action. Connor Roach and James Tilley each picked up assists as Brockport took their 1-0 lead into the first intermission.
Lanyi knotted the score up at a goal apiece for each team just after five minutes of action in the second period, as the Cards used some excellent passing to find the senior wide-open in front of the net. Along the boards on the left faceoff circle,
Bennett Stockdale (Ottawa, Ontario/Alabama Huntsville) played a pass to
Ryan Hogg (Duncan, British Columbia/Islanders Hockey Club) behind the goalie line. The senior defenseman then rifled a pass to Lanyi just in front of the goalie's crease wide-open as he finished with a one-timer for the score. The tie held into the second intermission, setting up for an important third period of SUNYAC play.
The Cards played stifling defense and put out a stout offensive attack in the final period, putting 20 shots on goal while holding Brockport to just two in the entire 20 minutes of action in the third. Bellina tallied his first collegiate score and the game-winning goal at the 9:52 mark of the period, as
Paul Bryer (Clarkston, Mich./Islanders Hocke club) pried a loose puck off the boards and out to Belgrave in the center of the offensive zone. The sophomore played the puck back to Bellina, who ripped a slapshot into the top shelf giving the Cards the lead.
As Plattsburgh continued their strong defensive effort, the Golden Eagles attempted to take their goalie out of the net and get an extra man on the ice. With an empty net, Brockport put a long shot on goal that was saved by Shiller. Shiller smartly saved the shot and laid the puck down for his offensive players to play up the ice with the net empty.
Trey Thomas (Williams Lake, British Columbia/Brooks Bandits) and
Tio D'Addario (Montreal, Quebec/Navan Grads) worked the puck up the ice where they found Belgrave ahead of the defense as he finished for an easy empty net goal, sealing the Plattsburgh win with just over two minutes left in the game.
