The game action began in favor of the Knights and stayed that way for its entirety, as Geneseo gave an excellent effort in a road playoff match. The Knights were able to dominate on the corner, scoring on all three of their kicks, making the difference in the first-round playoff match.
The scoring started in the 12
th minute for the visitors, as Tricia Curran scored off a corner kick on a loose ball inside the six. Less than eight minutes later, Raucci followed with a corner kick that she bent in, in a highlight-worthy score. The 2-0 lead held throughout the first half, despite Plattsburgh getting some decent chances in some transitional play.
In the second half, the Knights got on the board once again early on, scoring in the 52
nd minute off another corner, this time with Foster scoring. A minute later, Patrick got the Cardinals' only attempt on goal with a deep shot over 20 yards out that was saved by the Geneseo keeper.
Throughout the half, Haley continued to make great saves, but the Knights were able to work themselves into several fantastic opportunities. They got the final goal of the game to go in the 58
th minute, as Raucci scored her second goal off the assist from Foster.
Mollie Collins earned the win in goal for Geneseo, making one save in 82 minutes.
