PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's lacrosse team fell to No. 23 SUNY Brockport by a 17-3 final on Senior Day Saturday afternoon at the Field House Complex in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action.

Prior to the start of the game, the Cardinals honored their four seniors as a part of Senior Day: attackers Emily Caoili (Lagrangeville, N.Y./Arlington) and Allie Vangas (Cornwall-on-Hudson, N.Y./Cornwall), midfielder Davina Gyedu (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) and goalie Alexa Cassidy (Warwick, N.Y./Warwick Valley).

The Golden Eagles held the upper hand in shots (40-17), ground balls (21-16) and draw controls (14-9) and went 17-for-19 on clears. The Cardinals were 12-for-19 on clear attempts.

Odett then scored twice—with Hemly assisting on the first one—and sophomore midfielder Julia Quinlan found the back of the net twice (Hemly and Odett assists, respectively) to hand Brockport a 6-1 advantage with 3:29 left in the opening frame. Junior midfielder Lindsay Guzzetta (East Islip, N.Y./East Islip) scored on a free-position shot to pull the Cardinals within 6-2, but sophomore midfielder Logan Hibbard scored on a pass from Odett before Odett tallied on a feed from senior attacker Allison Jennings with 0.2 seconds left in the period to put the Golden Eagles on top, 8-2, through 15 minutes of play.

Brockport netted four goals in the second quarter to take a 12-2 lead into halftime before outscoring Plattsburgh State, 4-0, in the third quarter to go up, 16-2. Junior attacker/midfielder Kate Kennedy (Waddington, N.Y./Massena) broke up the surge with an unassisted goal midway through the fourth quarter, while Hemly closed out scoring in the contest with an unassisted marker with 3:15 to go in regulation.
