BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's tennis team closed out its regular season with an 8-1 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) win over Fredonia on Saturday morning at the Binghamton Tennis Center.
 
Plattsburgh State, which rises to 8-7 overall (3-4 SUNYAC) with the win, still has a chance at qualifying for the SUNYAC Tournament, as the full field will be determined in the coming two weeks. Fredonia drops to 0-7 overall (0-6 SUNYAC) with the loss.
 
In doubles play, sophomores 
Nicole Svantner (West Nyack, N.Y./Clarkstown South) and Samantha Svanter (West Nyack, N.Y./Clarkstown South) won 8-0 at No. 3, senior 
Sarah Hoeffner (Montgomery, N.Y./Valley Central) and sophomore 
Sarah Benowitz (New City, N.Y./Clarkstown North) won 8-3 at No. 1 and junior 
Alyana Leandry (Latham, N.Y./Shaker) and sophomore 
Jacqueline Svantner (West Nyack, N.Y./Clarkstown South) won 8-5 at No. 2.

Bri Miller (East Greenbush, N.Y./Columbia) each were perfect in singles play, winning by scores of 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 and No. 6, respectively. 
Nicole Svantner won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 5, Hoeffner won 6-3, 6-0 at No. 2 and Leandry won 6-4, 6-1 at No. 1.
