PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to Potsdam on Saturday at the Field House Complex.
Plattsburgh State falls to 5-5 overall and 0-3 in the SUNYAC while Potsdam improves to 9-2 and 2-1 in the conference.
Brooke Falsion of Potsdam had a hand in all three goals, assisting on the first and scoring the second and third which were her 11th and 12th of the season.
Potsdam recorded all three goals in the first half.
The first goal was scored in the 10th minute off of a blocked shot that was intercepted by Potsdam and passed back to be booted from just outside the box into the top left corner of the net.
The second goal came two minutes later when Potsdam took the ball from midfield and passed it all the way down through Plattsburgh State's defense. Graduate goalkeeper
Taylor Adams (Schenectady, N.Y./Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons) came out of the net to defend but the Bears were able to deek around her and put the ball into the net.
The third goal came in the 27th minute when once again Potsdam took the ball from the midfield, made it through the Cardinal defense down the left side and crossed it to score from in front of the net.
Plattsburgh State was able to keep the second half scoreless and got in 10 shots with six on goal.
Adams made 10 saves between the two halves while Potsdam's keeper recorded seven.
The Cardinals are back home Monday, Oct. 1, to host Clarkson at 7 p.m.
