Cardinals Hang 11 on Hornets, Improve to 4-0

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's soccer team picked up its fourth win of the season on Sunday afternoon, besting the Lyndon State Hornets at the Field House Soccer Complex 11-1.

Seven different Cardinals found the back of the net in the lopsided affair. Midfielder's Madeline Saccocio (Schenectady, N.Y./Schalmont) and Ashlie Guinness (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) picked up five points Sunday on two goals and one assist each.

In addition, midfielder Cait Gagen (East Syracuse, N.Y./East Syracuse Minoa) and forward Sarah Haight (East Meredith, N.Y./Charlotte Valley) each tallied two goals apiece.

The Cardinals outshot the Hornets by a margin of 34-4.

Cardinal goalies Nichole Gibson (Arkport, N.Y./Arkport Central) and Taylor Adams (Schenectady, N.Y./Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons) split time between the pipes, with Gibson getting credit for the win.

The Cardinals improve to 4-0 this season, and will travel to Middlebury College on Wednesday for a non-conference game with the Panthers.
